Turbans are a great way to mask a bad hair day, or to add an emphasis to a pair of chunky earrings and some bold makeup choices. They're also incredibly easy to style, and can be made out of anything from a vintage silk scarf to a sash belt. In this case, we've both used the latter.
The classic combination of black-on-black is always a sure way to make an impact, the greatest upside being that you don't have to worry about matching, clashing and vice versa. I decided on a form-fitting, pinup-esque pair of shorts to balance out the boxy shape and high collar of my chiffon blouse. To accent the up-do and frame my face, I picked a dangly, bright pair of earrings that happened to go perfectly with the gold clips on my bag and the accents on my shoes.

I love pairing statement pieces with more simplistic items. Cheetah print is possibly my favorite print ever: my love for it goes way back. When I spotted this cheetah print blazer at the thrift store, it was love at first sight. I imagined it would go perfectly with a black boustier and form fitting pants. And voila! My creation:
I find turbans incredibly useful because they can be a great fix to a bad hair day and still give-off an elegant vibe. Don't be afraid of wearing bold pieces. It definitely took a while for me to become more adventurous with the way I dress. What you have to do is ease into it; pair simplistic pieces, like basic black pants and a creme blouse with a patterned (i.e. plaid, paisley, polka-dot) blazer or sweater.

Wow this is great! I'm definitely going to start rockin' a turbin now! You girls know how to do it. Love the chiffon blouse and the riding pants.
